Enigma is a hip and exciting new hop bred and released by the Hop Products Australia program of the Barth-Haas Group. This hop from another galaxy is a cross between Tettnanger and a secret North American variety, but displays in a wholly unique manner. It is juicy with red fruits like raspberries and red currants, but what sets it apart from other varieties are the white wine notes (similar to Nelson Sauvin), that is most often described as crisp and refreshing \"Pinot Gris\". This \"chameleon\" of a hop is best utilized late in the brew to maximize its unique flavor and aroma properties. This hop comes out as an enigma wrapped in a paradox shrouded in a conundrum!\n\nCULTIVATION AREA: Australia\nALPHA-ACIDS*13.5 - 16.5 %\nBETA-ACIDS4.8 - 6.4 %\nTOTAL OIL2.4 - 3 ML/100g\nCohumulone: (% of alpha acids): 37 43%\nMYRCENE20 - 35 %\nLINALOOL0.3 - 0.4 %\n\nYakima Valley Hops was founded in 2012 and considers itself a premium hops supplier to the small craft brewery and homebrewer.
